Dia De Los Muertos
The Autumn Society
October 2 - October 31, 2009
This show will consist of 40+ pieces of art from the Autumn Society's finest artists, each interpreting "Dia de los Muertos" in their own unique style. "Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead), is typically a Mexican celebrated holiday, in which families bring offerings (such as food and mementos) to remember and celebrate their loved ones that have passed away. These artists have captured the spirit of this holiday. We suggest you come out and celebrate this First Friday, October 2nd 2009, for some fantastic original artwork, perhaps a mariachi band, and some sugar skulls!
"According to popular belief, the deceased have divine permission to visit friends and relatives on earth, and to share the pleasures of the living."- Chloe Sayer, Mexico: The Day of the Dead: An Anthology
