B&W photo reigns high in record breaking contest

The photography competition looks for photographs on the ‘Motion’ theme and pulled in over one thousand entries. Ilford Photo Student Photographer of the Year 2014 title went to Elliott Jagger, the Leeds College of Art student, with an entry called ‘Light in the dark.’

Lincoln College’s Laura Cogan was the runner up with a snap named ‘Almost there.’ Participants were told to click photos on Ilford or Kentmere black and white film and printed on conventional photographic paper.

The Manchester College’s Andy Barton took away the Harman technology Student Photographer of the Yea. The Norwich University of the Arts’ student Brydn Webb was a runner-up. The digital entries must be printed on Harman Crsytaljet Elite RC inkjet paper.

Wildlife photographer Steve Gifford becomes a part of preservation board

Steve Gifford, the area wildlife photographer, is well known for an image that he clicked of 2 baby bobcats at Columbia Mine Preserve located near Oakland City. Well, now Gifford is gliding all his talent to another level. Steve is all set to be a part of the board of directors at Sycamore Land Trust preservation house.

Sycamore Land Trust questioned him to be a part of his team earlier in the fall. He told that he has collaborated with the SLT on different conservation plans and he has got an appreciation for the way it deals with.

A leading website reported that in an email, Steve told that their love for protecting Indianas natural heritage is contagious and it has always conducted with integrity and excellence. It has been a real honor to accept their invitation and be a part that great team.
