Mr Hoey, I’ve noticed you never seem to sharpen your images? Is that the
    case?

The coke picture was really fantastic!

  8. Gavin Hoey says:

I’ve not tried it but 50-150mm wouldn’t work for me. I tend to shoot
    landscapes at a wider angle e.g. 16-40mm

  9. Kai Weber says:

    Cool host. 😉

  10. Tezar R Birawa says:

    Thank you gavin 🙂

You get more noise on longer exposures and 10-15 mins is VERY long. You can
reduce the colour noise in Lightroom / ACR in Photoshop. Jump over to the
Detail section and increase the Color Noise Reduction slider.

I have the same Hoya ND400 and i’m currently having a problem when i’m
doing a very long exposure ie. 10-15 min, my image have these huge noise in
them, but they are red and green color, it looks like another layer of
noise was put in front of the image. camera is 5DII, any body knows about
this issue? it’s definitely not a normal noise.

A lot of the famous photos old school photographers did dodging, burning,
pushing, pulling and a host of other methods that is the equivalent of
layers and filters that we have in pp software. Heck – even film choice was
a post processing decision because that influenced the look and feel. You
still needed the fundamentals. The key is – what is my vision when i took
this pic? It is a FALLACY that the image at the point of capture (digital
or film) is the purest way to express our vision.

Do you break much gear being that twitchy?
